A taste of Cuba

We had such a brilliant night last night, it was Cuban Salsa at the Staithe Sutton night, with Sharon, Richard and our friends.... what a night we all had.. it was amazing

Last night we were going to be shown rueda (the wheel) its always looked fun to watch but honestly when you are part of it, it was such brilliant fun..you cant help but smile and enjoy yourself..

Richard was calling out the moves, we learnt enough just on our first night, to all get together and have one hell of a night.. It was so beautifully warm, the music was so good, we had our own taste of cuba and transformed stalham into a place where we all wanted to be..

I managed not to mess up my footwork for a change, the whole night just felt so right

I came home so happy last night it was untrue.....

The guy calls out the moves and in a circle everyone dances together picking up the ladies on the way round...

The passion these guys are sending out through dancing is infectious.. so if you havent tried cuban salsa, you have your very own cuban nights here on the Norfolk broads to come and try..

We have sunshine, that distinctive cuban beat flowing into the night air, a bar, the best group of people you could hope to meet and dance with.......and Sharon and Richard !!

Field work

My god what a day.. its been a hard one today..

Ive been up the stables working and helping out, theres so much to do on a Friday as alot of the horses owners go up over the weekend, so everythings done to make life easier for them..

We got rained on several times, which made me giggle, every time we were inside it was sunny, step outside in those fields and it starts, mind you i was so hot after mucking out and grooming i was quite pleased to get wet, it felt great.. even though we had endless fields to do..

My hands are blistered today, my legs feel like they are about to drop off, but its been a good one, hard but spiritually rewarding..

I learnt to drive a tractor this afternoon which i found highly amusing, the girls have been taking photos on their phones so as soon as someone takes the mickey and sends them through i promise ill post...

We were going out dancing tonight, but im going to swap nights and go tomorrow instead. a hot bath and some home cooking sounded too good to miss and i know ill be full of energy by tomorrow, so its a good desicion..

Right its time to clear up this bomb site that used to be called a house..lol my fellas been sitting for me (on a computer anyway!) so while ive still got some energy left and i smell like a stable, ill muck in here.............lol

Bullies

Ive been having a little problem with my kids the last few months, two of them are getting badly bullied by a group of youngsters, one whos the ringleader isnt very nice at all..
Last week my youngest was pushed under a car, thankfully it was parked up, but its been really worrying me, so i decided id train them both up in kickboxing..lol
2 nights a week we have been using the handwraps and bag and ive been trying to pass on everything i learnt, i got pretty good, i boxed against blokes as well as women and although i was small i made sure i was quicker, so size wasnt an issue for me..
I took it up as my past put me in situtations that werent very nice, i was bullied not by groups but by an ex parter for years, so i know how these kids feel..
They have been doing really well, they both block well, which is always a good start in self defence, but i didnt want them using what i was teaching in a bad way, so both promised only to use it as self defence and if they were hit first.. two wrongs never make a right and i didnt want their new confidence to go to their head so they actually made the situaltion worse..
Yesterday they went to boys brigade as usual, but both came back with various marks accross the face and neck, but they were both looking so pleased with themselves.
Apparently the bully started again as soon as brandon walked in, he straight away punched him in the face and went to throw another.. Brandon said he couldnt stop the first hit as he was walking through the door but he did block the 2nd ! lol he then stuck his guard up to protect himself and sent a right hook flying round the bullies head... hehe (i know its not funny, but im glad he did it) ive watched my son shrink in confidence week after week, being the target of this horrible lads agression and it needed to stop...
The bully must have been surprised as he went off crying calling for his bigger mates.. he comes back with 3 more horrible ones just like him and then starts on my other son callum, now callum is the quiestest little lad you could ever meet..
He was shouting pay back time whilst he scratched my son straight accross his cheek laughing, the brigade leaders were informed by this time and were running accross the hall..
Instead of callum hiding up (which he would normally do) he somehow found the strength to rip open the bullys shirt punch him hard enough to put him down and calmly said,
" my mum taught me that all bullys only hit if you dont hit them back ! so now leave us alone ".....
Im not proud of them fighting, but i am proud of the fact they found enough confidence to stick up for themselves last night.. he wont bother them again im sure of that, and has a lovely black eye today to show for his bullying..
Ive been told im getting a visit tonight from the mother, ive dealt with her before and enjoy smiling nicely while she shouts obsenities at me... hehe
They blame the kids for todays unruley society, but as i found out it usually starts at home....
I was hoping for a quiet night in tonight too ......lol

Addicts

We were supposed to be having a quiet night last night, the boys had to be taxi'd to and from brigade my daughter had riding lessons so its was the usual uproar...lol

I got a text message from cheryl that made me laugh so much:

If this sounds like an offer too good to refuse brown eyed girl meet me at 8.30 at the Hog In Armour... lol

Well i couldnt sit there and not go.......lol

So i rallied the kids into the car went in the clothes id been in all day to see what she was talking about............OMG

Why did we not know about this place...

I walked in spoke to Deda and paid my six pounds and the first guy i saw was Brett...... next to him another of the top dancers from the keir hardie and it just went on from there.. they were everywhere !! lol

The class was for 1 hour and it was run by a lady called Larissa,who specializes in cross body la style..

We sat there with our mouths open, just watching the basic class !! i decided i wasnt going to do the class as i felt too nervous and very scared id embarrass myself badly, we were just going to watch instead, but Larissa told us to have a go and just do what we could !!

I have never been so nervous in a class, one by one i went to the next guy who was just an endless list of those guys i sit at wishing i was good enough to partner them...

Im not sure how we got through the class but after a while i started to feel more relaxed, they are exceptionally good, but they are also very nice so were all helping, i finally got the routine right (which i am very pleased about) but what a high when you get through it............lol

Cheryl and Francesca both sailed through it, my fella. bless bear in mind what hes surrounded by, did just over half the class (he got stuck at one move) but he got up ad had a go, which in my eyes was brilliant..

We werent out long, just long enough to realise how much there is to this salsa dancing, my god it certainly motivates you.......

I was lying in bed this morning having such a lovely dream and what happens?

All of a sudden my right boob starting burning so i turned over to see what was the matter to find mr waspy sticking his arse in it ! im sure he was smiling at me too....

Greedy bugger, all that body hanging out of bed and he has to bite me there...lol

It must have been a male (straight for the bust area!).......... god it stings.....

So i now have 3 boobs for my claim to fame vodka talk...

I've had several offers of first aid that ive happily turned down (dirty sods) and im trying to pack with one arm and take no notice of the jibes ! hehe

Hes definately got me a good en and stuck it well in there, its swelling up like hell ...

So im the butt of everyones jokes today... but glad to say im not like my mum and alergic to them (although i could have had the day off in that lovely sun) so she was right, im bad blood just like my dad.....lol

Im not going to the chemist and exposing myself as its embarrassing... but if anyone sees a wasp floating about today looking really pleased with itself.......

Coco Xpress

A group of us went to see Coco Xpress at the Norwich Arts Centre last night.. wow what a great night... this band had everyone up dancing away, its contagious this salsa stuff..lol


Me Cheryl Steve and Francheska helped keep the bar takings up and enjoyed blaming the floor for our bad footwork....

lol we were all past sober and having the time of our lives out on that dance floor...

We met up with loads of people we know from the salsa community, Had a few dances with Ralph, David and some of the guys there, made new friends and thoroughly enjoyed the night..

The music was banging.... I can still hear it this morning..........lol


Its the first time ive seen a salsa live band, but it wont be the last, i honestly couldnt stand still...

I have to thank my fella for sticking to soft drinks and taking care of us all, he didnt look like he minded bless he was up and salsa steppin it all night again......where this guy gets his energy from i dont know (but id like a bottle ) but one song after another he was on that floor til we ran out of music..

Ralph managed to lead 2 of us at a time to merengue, this guy is something else.......... David was giving us all dances and as usual we didnt stop laughing for most of the night.....

A truely brilliant night, i have a sore head and very sore feet....... but im already dancing round the lounge this morning......

You guys are such good fun, thank you for making it such a fantastic night..

Sharon & Richard Dancing cuban salsa

Ive finally managed to get Sharon and Richard on video this week, so anyone who's interested in learning salsa can see how good these guys are...

Ive just had the most wonderful day, Ive been working at the stables all day, Ive done my work (so not skiving) i did that when most of you were still dreaming..lol but at 8 am i was in my element and up the stables....

I learnt so much today, Ive spent the day mucking out, grooming and roaming the fields, my feet and back ache, but my heads very happy and peaceful, all thanks to a few guys that don't speak but can show their appreciation in a way I appreciate......

I know horse ridng can get expensive, so i decided that id swap that for good old fashioned hard work, Kevin's said i did the work of 3 people today, so Ive been asked to go back in a few days to help out again, Price my flirty horse bats his huge eyelids every time i go past him now (he wants Polo's) and today managed to embarrass me when i groomed him, by getting rather excited....lol

To most people its nuts working 7 hours for a chance to ride, but not to me... i don't mind working hard if its for a good cause........

Last night was salsa (again..lol) which was another great night...... Ive finally managed to get Sharon and Richard on video so you can see for yourself how good these guys are, they really are something very special..

Im still struggling with my cuban feet as its tricky learning both styles at the same time, i constantly stand on people and struggle at times recognising the leads, but with Richards and sharons help im hoping ill get there, at least im having fun while im learning it too...


Regaetton was just as good as it always is, the girls all giggle when they do it, you simply cant help it, rompe is infectious....lol and last night Mark and Adrian braved us girls and joined in too, which was great to see ..... good on you fellas !

Its salsa again tonight with Cheryl and Francesca so I'm looking forward to sitting in a nice long bath and trading my riding boots for my salsa shoes and a vodka, its always a good night with these guys, I'm so lucky in having such great people around me....

Some things in life are special, and people make my time here special .......

Simply Salsa

Its wednesday already..........the weeks flying by...

Its been another busy week, monday i was at the stables all night getting dirty as usual, the horses will be getting fat soon, with the amount of polos im feeding them.....lol

Last night was belly dancing and salsa, followed by we will be the last to leave the bar night.......... (they were polishing the tables so we took that as a hint to leave)....lol

It was such a great night, Cheryl as usual was constantly making me giggle , the guys were all on fine form with their leads and us girls were all in our element....

I was tired to start with and a little low yesterday, but it soon went when i met up with our friends and that music started playing, its better than any medicine....

Belly dancing was great, i did try and take on a hip roll, but the only thing i got rolling were eyes and people laughing at my bad rendition of "shakiras" hips dont lie (well ok mine do)... i was crap ! but im not giving up on this! lol I really want to learn ......

Salsa was great, it was cross body night with our usual very funny group and everyone was as mad as ever, the guys though.. wow they were really strutting their stuff..

Me and Cheryl were taking it in turns to wear poor Derick out ! hehe his girlfriend Karen came too last night so I did try and not get him into trouble.. it didnt give her the best insight to me though wearing what i had on " 100% unsurpassed devious bitch " top !! lol ... but hopefully we will convince her we are all really such a friendly bunch there and she will enjoy the classes as much as we do, shes a really good dancer, so hopefully its another fun person to have a giggle with on a tuesday.

Adrian was teaching us cuban moves for most of the night !!! we were all laughing about that, i think it had something to do with us all dancing cuban for most of the night Friday, both our teachers were all there and i was interested to see what style my fella chose... cuban won hands down, he loves the music and we couldnt get him off that floor all night.. hes definately into this big time and at the most strangest moments i often catch him dancing away in his own little world...I can see a youtube moment coming on soon.........lol

I cant believe how well hes doing but its also the people we dance at these places with......... you honestly wouldnt meet nicer people, i have never been happier than i am when im out on these dance nights, they dont feel like lessons, its such good fun, we are making so many good friends along the way........ its opened a new door to something thats very exciting and such good fun..

Thursdays now are nights now when we rush home from work, its a social evening not just a dance class with these guys... The class last week was great so any men out there reading this, why arent you there? you get to tell us girls what to do and actually get away with it all night ! imagine that........ is it sounding tempting yet?? ....lol

Its riding tonight ...... twice !! well if im not dancing then i want to be riding, between these two things im constantly worn out but smiling madly.. ive nearly come through the " I constantly ache feeling" and must be getting fitter....as i get bored now if i have nothing to do.... tonight after riding im hitting Richards site http://www.dancecuban.co.uk/index.html logging into the music section and shimmeeing round my lounge.... i did so much wrong last week, kept hitting the men in the head trying to do the coka cola move and need to sort that out, Richards shown me where to step now, Sharons shown me what i should be doing with my arms (sorry about that adrian) so hopefully i will improve a bit for tomorrow night.....hehe

I had to giggle this morning though, Sandra came in to work and as usual wanted to see what moves we learnt last week ! so on goes "lovely day " and into gear steps Steve.. he was only just out of bed still half asleep yet was flying round the lounge in full form... its better than sex ! thats about the only thing ive found that gets him interested and moving that quickly especially at that hour.. so its official .........salsa especially cuban style is a great way to get you feeling uplifted whatever time of day or night......................if you could have seen the duracel bunny with attitude whizzing round my lounge this morning, i know you'd all agree........

He'd give any rampant rabbit a run for its money............lol

At One with Nature

Its been a fantastic night... Ive been up Red hall riding tonight..

I love being there, Mondays now are turning into such spiritual nights, its not just about the riding its about being there at one with nature...

The horses run free in the fields, everyone has made me feel so welcome and i just cant get enough of being there..

It was my fellas birthday today, we have had a really good day after not so good a start (a credit card fraud cost me 600 quid today) which wasn't good, Barclay's told me it was confirmed and everything was right, 3 months after sending out the garments they decided they would change their minds, i was furious so have now taken it out of the website.. i cant afford to lose that amount of money, i was buying next week new stock, but sadly now, down to someone not being honest and a thief its stopped me from getting new lines in... Id loverto get hold of them, i can tell you.. i did feel so sorry for my fella, to have that on your birthday wasn't nice... We didn't let it spoil our day instead enjoyed the sunshine in between working and managed to laugh for most of the day...

I wanted to cancel my lesson tonight so i could spend the night with him.. but he wanted to work !! the guy never stops (you were right Sharon and Cheryl) hes definitely a Duracell bunny ..lol But if it makes him happy i cant complain, he always tried so hard...

So tonight i took on the garden first and spent 3 hours creating my tranquil place, the birds are all visiting daily now and its the place i spend most of my time in.. especially if that suns shining..

So tonight i took my camera to the school. Kevin wouldn't let me take a picture of him so was hiding up as his hair wasn't spiked but he said i could mention how sexy he is.... lol he does make you giggle this guys as mad as me...

We had the lesson in the school, so it was a tough night, he was really putting us through our pace and boy wasn't it hot , my hair is still stuck to my head!

I was riding Billy again (hes beginning to play ball now too) usually this horse is so stubborn and wont move til he wants to, so week by week I'm getting stronger legs and learning to get him working with me..I even got him cantering lovely tonight without my whip ...

The night for me was brilliant again, as we got to wash the horses down before putting them to bed, and to be honest its as good as riding to me.. Watching them gallop off into the fields never fails to take my breath away.. its so beautiful........

Ive got a few photos of inside the school. they are a little blurry as it was really dusty tonight and we were moving quick, but thanks to my friends at the stable (all taking the mickey) they did help out and take some photos...lol

I got a treat tonight and some good news to finish the night....

The treat was I was allowed to put Dillon to bed (hes spectacular and 21 hands high) and the horse I'm so desperate to ride... Kevin's promised i can ride him as soon as I'm ready, so I'm throwing myself into getting this right but enjoying every moment as it happens...lol

I wanted to try and get me in the photo so i can show you just how tall he is, but holding the rope and trying to take a photo was impossible (and he isn't a horse to mess about with ) but the good news is Kevin's invited me up the stables for the day Thursday !! yipeeee so I'm going into work at 5 getting everything packed and done and starting there at 9am til 5pm, I'm so excited that means I'm riding Wednesday now (jumping) and all day Thursday... I really couldn't feel much happier.. Its home quick shower and then off to meet Cheryl for Richard and Sharon's salsa class..

Ive got to turn in now as i have to be in work by 5am tomorrow (im taking my fella to the beach for the day) seems we had to work so hard today.. its supposed to be beautiful tomorrow and we desperately need a tan, so decided ill work very early mornings and enjoy the sunshine while its here...lol

What a week ive got to look forward to now...........

Dance yourself Dizzy

Good morning world, are you all still in bed? ....lol

What a beautiful day again, perhaps summers finally arrived..
Its been another great week, i didnt have the best of luck last year, but since my birthday ive been very lucky, I have been doing so much good stuff, found dancing and my new friends and fell in love with riding, i know to some people that doesn't sound much, but Ive got more from these things than you could imagine and feel so happy inside...

Thursday was Cuban salsa with Sharon and Richard at the staithe, so for any of you that are in our area, GET YOURSELF DOWN THERE..lol We love the classes, the company and always have such a great night..

So if you want to join us all use the link on my favourites and come along... Stalham isn't the sleepy village most of you would imagine, these guys know how to party so come along and see..

We were out at our friends Friday night for a cook in and had such a brilliant night, i got to hear first hand one of the new tunes the lords composed, and am hoping hell let me post it once hes happy and sent me a copy..lol theres a story behind the song, but ill talk you through that step by step if he will let me have a copy, I promise it will be a blog NOT TO BE MISSED.... but not typically a clean one !!! (well what do you expect from me, i like to use my imagination )lol... Its to do with a ritual , marble tables and lots of candles and blindfolds.. that much i will give insight too.........so you need to read, close your eyes and imagine when you listen to it... it is brilliant, this guy is so talented its untrue, but needs to be heard..(so ill tell the story and he'll compose the music).... what a brilliant way to work...lol

Last night was our salsa party... the good news is i got to dance with Brett again !!! hes such a lovely guy the more i learn the more i respect him, hes gentle, very patient and wonderful to dance with....

The bad news is we all decided to be ill last night and it cut the night short (we are usually the last to leave) but ended up at 11 i had to go.. i was so annoyed at myself..

Id been looking forward to it all day but had a bad headache, i blamed the weather at it was stormy, so took no notice and carried on getting ready, 5 Min's before we were supposed to leave i was constantly feeling sick was really badly dizzy to the point of walking into my breakfast bar and the headache had got worse... i really didn't feel well at all.....

I wouldn't tell my fella (he was in the shower) so instead made the mistake of not saying anything, we got there my fella then said he didn't feel well and felt dizzy, Cheryl had the same thing so all off us sat there giggling about why we didn't tell each other ! i didn't want to let Cheryl down so was going hell or high water, she was the same and all three of us shouldn't have been out....lol

I was asked to dance so many times, each time i dare not decline in case they wouldn't ask again and danced so badly, i was constantly apologising to these poor blokes...lol

We were then walking out of the door (my fella was outside on the grass as he was then feeling sick too) and Brett came over !!! He is such a gentleman he thought wed got some beers lined up elsewhere and wanted to know why we were going? so i told him i was crud (which he found highly amusing) and needed to go, as i was going to fall on my arse, if anyone tried to spin me and embarrass them terribly....

He asked me to have one dance before i left and took so much care, he didn't spin me instead was so gentle and attentive, this guy really is in my eyes a real gentleman... I loved my dance, managed not to embarrass him and promised him next time, he can push me out to the limits.. I was really not on form at all.. he was nice enough to have read the situation well, and it shows this guy doesn't dance to show off, he dances to give his partners a great dance and wants them to enjoy it.........................And that's the real meaning of dancing....

I cant wait for this weeks classes, i hope whatever it is that's taken hold of me Cheryl and Steve passes, our friend Jane was suffering the same symptoms last week, so it looks like its a bug.. Any bug that stops me from dancing should be banned in my eyes.. lol

Good stuff

Its monday.. i have to say coming back to work feels pretty good today, its been a non stop week but really good... me and my fella both feel tired so its been a bit of a joke today, hes been to meetings looking like he needs matchsticks to stay awake....

Im still giggling about Saturday, i had a text message from cheryl that started me off again (i wished id had decent batteries in my camera.. my fellas been giggling all weekend about me being able to fly.... Ivans now joined my facebook community and has promised me another flying lesson next time we see him... im so glad i didnt wear a dress that night !!

Its riding tonight......... so ill be sitting there at least 2 hours before the lesson all ready to go, watching the clock, im glad i ride late at night as i love being out there when the suns setting, but the hours between getting home from work and leaving to ride drag on.... so i may just have to slot something else in there, or perhaps have an extra long lesson, im always starving when i get home covered in mud but on such a high.... its what makes me work quicker mondays too, its my reward to working hard (thats what i call it anyway) lol

Yesterday we hit the beach, the kids were all having such a good time, we went collecting limpets and had such a good time, i love being near the sea, its so inspiring, i always come back like a new pin adding things on that wish list.... its the first time ive got my bikini out this year, but hopefully not the last..... it was beautiful...

What is it about sunshine that makes everything seem so easy, everyone smiles, everyone feels happy, we actually start to appreciate just what good stuff we have around here in norfolk...

I didnt realise until i started the riding and dancing, just how much good stuff is going on here, most nights now we are out enjoying dancing or mother natures gifts... i honestly think this is going to be the best year yet..

I used to laugh about people saying life begins at 40.........

Now i understand exactly where they are coming from...... Im loving this year already, and im only half way through it !! lol

Midsummers party

I'm still smiling this morning, i bet you are still giggling aren't you Cheryl? hehehe

My god what a night that was.........

We spent mid summers at a salsa party...with our Tuesday group...

We did three classes first , salsa, bachata more salsa, i didn't get much sleep the night before as we were out with our friends so i thought i was rather going to struggle...lol

The day went by in a blur with my fella asleep at every opportunity, and me trying to clean up the house (it looked like a bomb had gone off) but we got through the day ok, anyway i can sleep loads later when I'm pushing up daisies...lol

Its been a brilliant weekend, it really has...

Last night i was thrown over a guys head (who's about 6 " 5") honestly !! lol

What a blast !! it was brilliant...

His name is Ivan Hospodar(all you dance guys and instructors will know this guy) i wont forget his name in a hurry either, my god how good is he ?????????

We were dancing away and he came over to me and asked me to dance, he'd already taken the bachata class so i thought it wouldn't be too hard !! OMG am i a blond or what...

He was asking questions and asked if id done ballroom dancing before..nope , he was complimenting me on my arms of all things (that's down to you Sharon) and your hard work, i couldn't move my arms until i went to her classes, shes helped me so much ....

Anyway i have never seen or felt anything like this guy before, i was twisted turned thrown and pushed as hard as i have ever been in my entire life, i was sweating lost my earrings, my hair clips and a necklace but it was worth every bit..

Cheryl sat there in hysterics..............

I was taught things that Ive already been up practising this morning! and i have to say to date..

I cant believe i really did that !!!!!!! my fella didn't stop talking when he got home and said he didn't know how the hell i kept up with it (id had no vodka either) just lime and soda and a good pair of salsa shoes...lol

Im not sure what i got wrong or right, i don't care what i looked like, its how i felt that i liked best ! it felt incredible...........

We went into turns and things I'm years away from learning, but somehow i managed to get through ok, my smile was that huge, my lips had stuck to my teeth !!

I was spun and spun and dipped and twisted and half way through he decided that he would pick me up and spin me over his head ! it was the best dance i have ever had ...

Four times he came over and asked me to dance, by the end of the night i looked like id been in a shower..lol Adrian said Ivan had been hogging me all night (which made me giggle), so i even got a dance with him...

It was a brilliant night, i don't know where that energy came from, im still pretty shocked this morning, but its done one thing and really helped my confidence..

Its like Cheryl said " after dancing like that, you couldn't possibly ever feel nervous again" mmm shes right..lol

This guy is world class at ballroom, salsa tango and as many dances as i could write, i will probably never dance like that again, but mid summers for me will definitely not be forgotten..

I had an absolute ball................................
